Lifelong Learning: Educational Enrichment Products and Services
The Welles-Turner Memorial Library subscribes to several services which are designed to help people prepare for tests, reinforce and practice what they already know, and/or expose them to new areas of knowledge. Below is a link and brief description of each.
Transparent Language Online http://www.library.transparent.com/wellesturnerct/flashcards/login?continue=/wellesturnerct/flashcards/
Transparent Language Online combines lessons on grammar, vocabulary, writing, speech, and pronunciation to create a powerful language learning system. There is also a social media component that enables users to interact with each other via Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube to practice their new language skills. Byki, which primarily used flashcards as its training method, is also incorporated into this service, so users who began with that program may continue using it after accessing Transparent Language Online. You must have a Glastonbury library card to use this service.

ePrep prepares students for the SAT, ACT, and PSAT. Students download practice tests, then input their answers online to get the test graded. Unlike some other test prep programs, ePrep monitors your progress and recommends subject matter and strategy lessons for review. Video feedback is available. The first time you use this program, you must use a library computer to access it and register.
This resource offers free, unlimited Internet access to a wide variety of practice tests and tutorial courses, including the ACT, SAT, GED, ASVB, Police Officer, EMT Basic, U.S. Citizenship, Cosmetology, and Real Estate Agent and Broker. Users receive immediate scoring and an individualized analysis of their results.
