WELLES-TURNER MEMORIAL LIBRARY COMPUTER USE POLICY
Computer use is two hours per day with a valid Connecticut library card.
The computers log off 20 minutes before the Library closes.
Children age 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Users must have a general knowledge of computers and be willing to teach themselves the programs offered.
Library staff will not knowingly tolerate children under age 17 accessing sites containing obscene material as defined by the Connecticut State Statutes (53a-193). A parent or guardian is responsible for monitoring a child’s access to the Internet.
Internet users may not access pornographic materials or gamble. The Library staff reserves the right to terminate such sessions.
All users who release personal information over the Internet, including personal identifying information, credit cards, or bank account numbers, do so at their own risk. Please remember to LOG OUT of all sites.
Printing is $0.20 per page for black/white; $0.50 for color at the photocopier.
Only programs installed on the Library computers may be used.
Storage devices are available for purchase at the Reference Desk.
The Library cannot guarantee a successful Internet connection.
The Library is not responsible for loss or destruction of personal files, or storage devices.
Damages to hardware and software will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
